Additionally, acid reflux or GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) can sometimes trigger excessive saliva production, which might contribute to drooling at night.

How to Reduce Drooling While Sleeping

    • Change Your Sleeping Position: Try sleeping on your back to encourage natural saliva swallowing.
    • Treat Nasal Congestion: Use a humidifier, saline sprays, or allergy medications if congestion is a problem.
    • Stay Hydrated: Dehydration can thicken saliva, making it harder to swallow.
  • Check Medications: If you suspect your medication is increasing saliva production, consult your doctor about possible alternatives.
  • Address Sleep Apnea: If you experience snoring, choking, or frequent awakenings, consider getting tested for sleep apnea.
